U.S. WW2 U.S.N. Vollrath co water jug - 6th June 1944

This is a unique souvenier from the 'D Day' landings 6th June 1944. This U.S.N. water jug was recovered from the sea off the coast of Normandy. Covered in barnecles and also slightly damaged. I have had this item in my collection for more than 15 years. Very nicely stamped on the base and manufactuerd by The Vollrath Co. I don't know from which sunken vessel this is from but think it comes from off the coast of Utah beach.
